Now that we are getting all settled in our cozy Cabin. We needed some new furniture. On our mini honeymoon last year we drove through Rexford and Eureka Montana. We drove by a store called ONE OF A KIND.
I had recalled it advertised Amish furniture, so we went back to check it out one day when we were driving all over looking for furniture. It was full of awesome furniture, some of it was Amish. However, the amish tend to make furniture that is logs upon logs. Our home is already nothing but logs! I didnt want the theme to carry so heavily, but still wanted a rustic feel.
I first laid eyes on this buffet table/entryway table.
I really liked that it was rustic, but not just more logs to toss in our log home. What’s more, it matched our walls! Bob, the store owner, informed us he made the furniture in the store. It was not shoddy, like most crap out there. It was also super well priced. So what did I do? I commissioned Bob to make this pantry…
Out kitchen is VERY small and our space is limited. Being able to custom order something to match our amazing buffet/hallway table was awesome! Especially since this tiny space by our counter was so specific, there wasnt much out there. The shelves are so sturdy, I could pack ALL of them with cans upon cans and it would be just fine.
Then I wanted a matching table for in between our recliners…
We love it! Matthew dug it so much he just commissioned a custom desk. It’s near impossible to find any already made that he fits under with his height, so we are stoked. We did NOT spend crazy money, he is so well priced for the work he does!
So, I think I will ask Matthew for a new desk for my bday, since mine is some piece of shit I bought off amazon. It will be the same price roughly that I paid for crappy stuff! I think I want to also have him do our entire bedroom set. We havent bought one in 5 years because we kept saying “We are just gonna move again.” Now that we are settled in our forever home, it makes sense. I’ll end up paying less than getting some crapfest at Ashley furniture.
The best part is his wife makes amazing soaps!(I think candles, too)
They sell them online if you are interested, as well as other things. Matthew is VERY particular about what he uses, so I am thrilled I found something he will use. Usually he uses something I buy ONCE, proclaims he doesnt like it…and never uses it again! They smell awesome, and I am happy I dont have to drive all the way back to Eureka to get more.
This mom and pop store really impressed me. We were not ripped off, got amazing quality for a good price AND soap the Behemoth will use without complaining!
I cant wait to furnish more of our house with bad ass custom made furniture over time!!! If you live in Northwest Montana, or near, and want some well priced and well made stuff, this is the place to go to! If you dont live there and want to support small businesses. Buy some soaps and whatnot from their online shop!
See our beautiful tiny cabin in this shot? I am just over the moon about where I live! Rivendell meets the golden wood!
